Councillors voice support for 5 Acres Now
On the 28th of November 2004, 5 Acres
Now held a general meeting for members. All 3 north ward
councillors attended; all voiced strong support for a
restoration of growth to the area through relaxing the
restrictions against
rural residential subdivision.
It is very encouraging to receive this level
of support.
Also addressing the meeting was Steven
Pringle, the state Member for Hawkesbury. While not as outspoken
in his support of our aims, he has agreed to raise the concerns
of 5 Acres Now at state government level, and was handed a copy
of our "Balanced Approach to
Growth" (570k pdf).
This meeting was the first general meeting of
the association since the inaugural public meeting of 12
September 2004, when over 150 attended. Since then the committee
has meet regularly to plan future activities and review
progress, with members notified by mail and email when important
events are to take place.
